68 km north of Kuusamo, Ruka 45 km, river Oulankajoki 50 m, because of the flow swimming possibility only for good swimmers. Duckboard path from riverside sauna to the pier. Bottom is rocky, water depth 0,5 - 2 m. Cottage is located in the municipality of Salla. Kelo-log cottage built in 2010, downstairs 90 m² + loft 20 m², sleeping alcove (separated with curtains) downstairs: double bed, 2 sleeping alcoves upstairs: mattressess for 3-4 persons in each. The beds have thick mattresses and sleeping bags (not the actual bedding; no duvets or pillows). Additionally "lobby" and balcony upstairs. Combined kitchen-living room. Complete kitchen utensils, gas stove and wood stove with baking oven, gas fridge, root cellar, baking oven also in the fire place. Wood-heated sauna in separate building by the river Oulankajoki about 100 m from the cottage (stairs). In the same building with sauna there are bunk for 2 persons and mattresses for 4 persons in the loft as well as gas stove and tableware for 4 persons. Sauna-cottage 30 m² and a terrace. Water must be fetched from the river. Outdoor toilet. There is also smaller, about 15 m² (and faster warmed) sauna with dressing room near to the main building. This sauna is built on old timber and it is suitable maximum for 4-5 persons. Sauna water from the well by a pump and hot water must be heated on wood heated water tank.

Peaceful location by the river Oulankajoki, near by Oulanka National Park (distance 200 m), suitable for familes and groups for peaceful nature holiday. Lightning with electric led-lights and oil lamps, heating with wood-stove and fireplace. Power supply by wind power and solar cells, reserving the 400AH Solar Home System. Additionally generator as a reserve power. Drinkable water supply from a well by a pump (pump is located 50 m from the cottage). There are 2 outdoor toilets beside the cottage and beside the sauna. Parking place about 50 m from the cottage. Other distances: By walking to Oulanka canyon 1,5 km and to Karhunkierros-trail via Oulanka canyon about 3 km. Ruka and Sallatunturi about 45 km. There is a 3G Network in the cottage (own computer and internet stick required), 56" LED-TV (also for meeting use, connection cable for laptop), clear channels, flip chart. With the inverter there is a 230 VAC for having the electricity for TV and other electric device. Possibility to rent also the cabin Oulankamaja (code 9524). Oulankamaja is located by the lake Venojärvi, Oulankamaja is from about 500 m distance. Experienced paddler can paddle with a canoe to the cottage (duration about 1,5 hours). Route is partly quite demanding and not suitable for inexperienced paddler. Additional information: Final cleaning 220 eur, if not reserved in advance and customer has not cleaned the cottage properly. Oulangan Helmi is available from the beginning of June to end f September. Reservations start at 16.00 and end at 12.00 (also in weekend bookings).
