Saariselkä
Saariselkä is Finland's most northern resort, and is well known as an international tourist center. It is situated at the north of Lapland, far beyond the Arctic Circle. The village center of Saariselkä, surrounded by the fells, offers numerous activities and services for you to enjoy nature's beauty and the unique atmosphere of Lapland.
Saariselkä covers two hills - Kaunispää and Iisakkipää, which creates a fairly large area for skiing and allows the resort to have simple, slow and wide slopes, as well as the steep "black" descents. At the winter season 15 slopes are open, 7 of which have lighting, 5 lifts avaliable, 14 slopes have artificial snow equipment and 2 children's slopes are open. For fans of extreme skiing there is a snowpark. One of the largest national parks in Finland is located nearby - the Urho Kekkonen National Park.
