Accommodation information
This log cabin is situated on the shore of lake Saarijärvi, right by the outfall of Paasonkoski rapids in Yli-Vuokki recreational fishing area. Main room with double bunk bed (width 160 cm) and convertible sofa, kitchen corner (basic tableware, gas cooker, no oven, gas fridge). Little under ground cellar. Well water has not been examined, so it is recommended to get drinking water from a nearby spring or bring it with you. The separate log sauna was renovated in 2023 and the sauna terrace was renewed. Cabin has an excellent beach, rowing boat and life jackets, smoke oven, site for an open fire. Cabin is located in Suomussalmi eastern hunting area and Yli-Vuokki recreational fishing area, so hunting and fishing conditions are excellent.

WILDERNESS CABIN: Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival. Cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Due to long distances maintenance doesn’t check the cabin after all customers. If the cabin is not cleaned or there are deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately on arrival by calling. Please, remember to bring your own bed linen and towels (can not be rented). This cabin requires outdoor attitude and skills (how to make fire, for example). If you’re not sure, please consider another option. Water is not examined yearly so boiling the drinking water before use is recommended. Distances: Suomussalmi 52 km. Ala-Vuokki (fuel, grocery shop) 17 km. Bus stop 8 km. Itärajan retkeilyreitti -hiking route 6 km. Viena route 2 km. Fishing license area: 5505 Yli-Vuokki, small game hunting area: 5604 Itä-Suomussalmi (www.eraluvat.fi ot tel. +35820 69 2424). Cabin can be reached by car.

Olen vuosien ajan käyttänyt Lomarenkaan erämökkejä. Tämä Paasonkosken mökki on ehdottomasti parhaiten ylläpidetty ja huollettu mökki. Täällä sielu lepäsi luonnonrauhassa.
