Ruka Ski Resort
Ruka is perhaps the most famous and popular ski resort, and also one of the largest in Finland. A powerful infrastructure, the highest quality slopes, restaurants and cafes, offering a view of an amazing Laplandian landscape - this is what Ruka has to offer.
The skiing season at Ruka begins early, with the first snow in early November, and lasts until June. Slopes at the resort are of different difficulty levels, from simple and wide to steep slopes for professional riders. All in all the resort has 34 slopes, 26 of which have lighting. The longest descent is 1300 m. There are 21 lifts, 2 children's slopes avaliable. The length of the trails for cross-country skiing is 506 km. For extreme skiing enthusiasts there is a large large snow park at Ruka.
Get to the resort
The Ruka ski resort is located in the north-eastern part of Finland, near the town of Kuusamo. It is possible to get to the resort by plane to the city of Kuusamo, then by bus, rented car or taxi;
by train to Oulu or Kajaani, then by bus or car.
