Pohjanmaa - Ostrobothnia

Ostrobothnia is one of Finland's most comfortable holiday areas, with large fields, wide rivers and the beautiful Kvarken Archipelago. A holiday destination close to lakes and beautiful natural landscapes gives you a great opportunity both to rest and to enjoy outdoor activities. In Ostrobothnia you can explore finnish North-Eastern culture and history, relish the pure nature and enjoy the vibrant city life and event offerings.

Ostrobothnia's best summer destinations:

The best place for tourists in summer is the coastline of Ostrobothnia, which has some beautiful historic wooden houses preserved: Kristiinankaupunki, Pietarsaari and Kokkola. The most famous and the most popular sandy beach is Kalajoki's sandstones. Pohjala is proud of it's PowerPark Amusement Park in Alahärmä and the Ähtäri Wildlife Park. Ylistaro, the home of the Ritar Home Museum, is open with the cemetery where the most horrible murderer in Finnish history Matti Haapoja is buried.

Best winter destinations:

In winter well-maintained trails, hiking areas, a variety of sights and museums are there to make sure that holidaymakers will have a great time, exploring the activities of the region. There are several ski resorts in Ostrobothnia, and the best known are the Seoul River Joupiska, Lapuan Simpsiö and Sotkanrinteet in Kauhajoki. A number of snowmobile trails run along Ostrobothnia, you can go to a reindeer or a dog safari as well. The Duudsonit Activity Park is a must-see for the whole family.
