Ilvessalo cabin is located on steep bank on the shore of the clear-watered Lake Ruotsalainen, in the municipality of Asikkala. Big living room with 3 sturdy bunk beds, iron stove and oven. Kitchen, sauna and terrace with nice view to lake. Solar panel system gives possibility to charge for example mobile phone's battery and laptops. Sauna in same building: wood-heated stove, caldron for heating water, dressing room. On the yard a site for open fire, drinking water can be attained from a spring (50m away) on the hillside. Dock and rowing boat. Beach is suitable for swimming and you can also fish and row on the lake. Water of the lake comes from the Lake Päijänne through the Kalkkinen canal and rapids. This timber cabin was built in 1960 as a base for scouts.

Cabin is not pre-heated, but it's possible to have on request for additional fee. Ilvessalo is an excellent place for small groups and fishermen. The lakes are spectacular and you can even make a boat trip from Kalkkinen to Heinola. The area is an old agricultural milieu with small gravel roads and idyllic tourism attractions. The roads are excellent for cycling. This cabin requires outdoor attitude and skills (how to make fire, for example). If you’re not sure, please consider another option. During winter a minimum of 2 days’ rental period is recommended, because heating the spacious cabin takes time. Drinking water of the spring is not examined yearly, therefore boiling of the water before use is recommended. Fridge is 60 liter, no freezebox. Only small amount of food is possible to have cold storage. Instructions can be found in the cottage. Cabin can be reached by car, but last part of the route is very steep. During winter car cannot be park in the yard since the road to the cottage is very steep. Final cleaning possible to reserve at extra fee (from owner). Erittäin hyvä paikka, jos hakee rauhallista paikkaa eikä kaipaa poreammeita taikka muutakaan ylimääräistä. Meidän porukasta tuli kanta-asiakkaita. Pääsee myös veneellä laiturin viereen. (Oltiin uisteluhommissa)

Erähenkiseen lomailuun hyvin soveltuva mökki. Kaikki tarvittavat keittiövälineet löytyivät mökistä. Hyvät vuoteet ja hyvä sauna. Hyväpohjainen hiekkaranta, johon pääsi hyvin myös veneellä. Rauhallista. Ei kuitenkaan sovellu liikuntarajoitteisille.

Kuvausta vastaava kohde. Nopeasti saatiin uusi akku, kun silloinen lakkasi toimimasta. Hyvä uimaranta.
