Accommodation information

370 km to the north from Rovaniemi, 39 km to the north from Inari, river Kaamasjoki 35 m, the width of the river is 70 m, riverbank at natural state, the water level varies, own rowing boat and small outboard (customer brings fuel, mixed fuel 98/2%). There is no road to the cabin. During summer time, distance from the parking place to the cabin is about 700 m (across the river). During wintertime, distance from the parking place is about 2.5 km on skis or on the customer's own snowmobile. Rustic log cabin built in 1982. In living room/kitchen 2 beds, sauna, 1 sleeping site in the dressing room. Entrance to the sauna from terrace. Water to the cabin and sauna must be carried from the river, distance 35 m, water can be heated in a tank connected to the sauna stove. Outdoor toilet and woodshed. There is no electricity in the cabin. Solar panel-based electricity for lighting and charging mobile phones.

WILDERNESS CABIN: Wilderness cabins are suitable for fishing, trekking and hunting trips. The equipment level of wilderness cabins has often been more modest than in other cabins. The cabin is not preheated before the reservation begins. Customer is responsible for cleaning during and after the holiday. Due to the long distances, the service will not inspect the cabin after all customers. If the cabin is on arrival without cleaning or there are deficiencies, please contact the owner by calling. The guest must bring their own bed linen and towels (not available for rent). Water is not tested every year, so we recommend that you boil your water before drinking it. Vastaranta is located on the opposite side of the river in a calm location. The nearest neighbor is on the other side of the river. Kaamanen, located in the middle of northern Lapland, is a perfect base for trips to Karigasniemi, Utsjoki, Sevettijärvi and all the way to Norway and the Arctic Ocean. The municipality center of Inari, Sámi museum and nature centre Siida and Sámi culture centre Sajos 39 km. Grocery store in Kaamanen, the restaurant services of Neljän Tuulen Tupa nearby. Neljän Tuulen Tupa is specializes in birds. Due to regular feeding, you can see Siberian jays, Siberian tits, Pine grosbeaks etc. Fishing: Recreational fishing area 1503 Kaamasjoki, Kielajoki starts from 1 km to the upstream (www.eraluvat.fi). Hunting: Vastaranta is located in а small game hunting area owned by the state, 1608 Muotkatunturi. Also, area 1607 Kaamanen well reachable (www.eraluvat.fi). During the thaw period from mid-April to the end of May and from the beginning of October to the end of November, there is no access to the cabin across the river.
