Accommodation information

Kokkolampi is small wilderness cabin on peaceful spot, on shore of pond Kokkolampi. Beach is in good condition, rowing boat available. Cabin has a small room with two convertible sofa beds and kitchen corner. Fireplace, kitchen sink (no running water), solar panel lighting and small fridge (also works with solar electricity). However, during freezing weather, the solar electricity is not enough to operate the refrigerator, so the food must be stored in e.g. a cooler box. Drinking water has to be fetched from the spring (signs, distance about 500 m), or client brings it with him. Lakeside sauna in separate building, there is also a room with 2 beds and a dressing room. Wood heated sauna stove, water has to be fetched from the pond (20 m). In summer, you can get to the cabin yard by car, in snowy time, you can park your car approx. 700 m from the cabin, and the rest of the journey must be done on skis or snowshoes.

WILDERNESS CABINs are best suited as a base for fishing, hiking or hunting trips. Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival. Cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Please, remember to bring your own bed linen and towels (can not be rented). This cabin requires outdoor attitude and skills (how to make fire, for example). If you’re not sure, please consider another option. Water is not examined yearly so boiling the drinking water before use is recommended. Suomu 17 km, Kemijärvi 57 km, Posio 60 km, Ruka 70 km, Kuusamo 95 km. In the surrounding areas there are vast hunting areas and good berry picking grounds. Berries can be picked even from the cabin yard. Fishing in the pond is possible with line and hook. State-owned hunting grounds: Salla Collective Forest (Sallan Yhteismetsä) hunting grounds 10 km, Vilma-Savina 12 km, Posio 12 km, Kemijärvi 25 km. Client brings own bed linen and towels and clean the cabin by himself (can not be bought as an additional service). The cabin is available for rent from June to October and, exceptionally, from autumn 2024 until the beginning of January 2025 and from March to April 2025 (no rental during the spring thaw period in May).

  Eräkämppä täytti kaikki odotukset rauhallisuudellaan. Alle kilometrin päästä löytyi hyvä mustikkapaikka ja Kokkolampi tarjosi veneestä onkimalla isoa ahventa. Saunamökki pimennysverhoineen oli hyvä paikka yösijana.
